Skyborne at a glance
Blizzard's official name is Skyborne; “Skyborn” is an observed search variant. Skyborne are a new playable elven race from Zephras Isle, whose elemental, skybound starting experience covers levels 1 through 12 with Classic Warcraft aesthetics and Skywall-inspired architecture. At character creation, choose Horde or Alliance. Both factions can play Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, and Druid; Alliance also gets Mage, while Horde also gets Shaman. Blizzard confirms new racials, customizations, voices, dances, visual options, and Druid forms for the race. (What's Next Panel Recap, official Skyborne short, Battle.net product page)
Access and entitlement status
- Confirmed race access: the Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher is required for the race and the Zephras Isle starting questline.
- Separate beta entitlement: Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection include the Heroic benefits and separately add beta access. This guide does not infer that beta access is unnecessary, or that Heroic access includes beta.

Confirmed, reported, and unknown
Blizzard confirms the faction/class matrix, Zephras Isle's level range and theme, the race's new visual features, and the Heroic-or-higher access gate. In the Deep Dive Panel Recap and official @Warcraft announcement, Blizzard officially confirmed that reworked racial abilities give each race two active and two passive abilities tuned around offensive power, signature utility, and survivability, superseding third-party demo reports of five abilities. Individual names and exact values for Skyborne racials remain unpublished. Blizzard has also not published a complete Druid form list (including tree form), a faction-change policy, or Zephras Isle's map, landmarks, quest order, deeper lore, post-level-12 route, or loot table. Its first-party pages do not publish a numeric Forever race total, and the six new race-class combinations confirmed in the Deep Dive (Gnome Priest, Human Hunter, Dwarf Shaman, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock, and Undead Paladin) did not add Paladin, Priest, or Warlock to Skyborne.
Found Photos origins and factions
The Found Photos recap adds announced/planned lore beyond the starting-zone description. Blizzard calls the Skyborne the shen'dorei, or “hidden people,” and describes rebels who fled Eldre'Thalas after the War of the Ancients before finding refuge in Skywall. The same section names the Windshapers, the High Order, and Al'Aketh.
These names expand the origin story; they do not supply a complete Skyborne faction map, racial-ability list, quest sequence, or post-level-12 route. Keep those details open until Blizzard publishes them.
Press reports remain Reported, not final rules:
- Warcraft Tavern describes Skyborne as High Elf exiles who fled their ancient kingdom; Blizzard's recap does not use “High Elf” or “Highborne.”
- Warcraft Tavern's racial-ability report reported five racials seen on the BlizzCon demo floor; this is superseded by Blizzard's confirmed two-active, two-passive structure.
- GameFragger reports bear, cat, travel, and moonkin forms in sky blue; the slide did not show tree form.
Skyborne FAQ
Where do they start?
Zephras Isle is the confirmed level 1–12 starting experience. Blizzard has not published a verified map, entrance, travel route, or landmark list, so fan-made locations are not confirmed.
Is there a walkthrough?
The starting questline is confirmed, but its named quests, order, rewards, and a complete walkthrough remain unpublished. A route guide or loot table would therefore be speculation until Blizzard publishes those details.
What racials and Druid forms are final?
Blizzard officially confirms the systemic structure: each race receives two active and two passive racials. However, the specific names, tooltips, and exact mechanics for Skyborne racials remain unpublished by Blizzard. Skyborne Druid forms are confirmed, but Blizzard has not published a finalized, complete form list.
